Client Reviews
Very first to address some of the comments from other reviewers... For the guy who said there is no yaw trim adjustment on the TX - check out the small thumbwheel on the proper side of the TX, there's your trim adjustment. For the guy who could not charge from laptop USB, mine charges just fine using the USB cable that came with the S110g.
I have 4 other Syma three-ch helicopters, the S107g, S108g, S111g, and the S026g. All flew good appropriate out of the box. Not so with the S110g. Initially flight the helicopter took off, I quickly trimmed out the yaw, and it flew for a couple of seconds prior to exhibiting a negative case of TBE (toilet bowl effect). It smashed into the wall and two parts came off. At first I could not tell where the components came from but they had been the covers for the LED lights and just snapped back into place no issue. TBE is NOT when the helicopter rotates around the most important rotor axis, that is yaw and that is what the trim control takes care of. TBE is when the helicopter swirls about in a big circle like it is becoming flushed down the toilet when attempting to hover. A tiny online looking revealed the achievable causes - either a binding flybar or binding upper rotor hub hinges on hinged-blade machines like the Symas. My flybar wasn't binding and the hinges seemed OK, but as an experiment I put to use a jeweler's screwdriver to meticulously loosen the upper blade mounting screws by 1/four turn, just in case they were a little tight. Could not hurt. Then went for a test flight and the TBE was totally cured! Now it flies entirely stable and is as responsive as any of its bigger brothers.
So aside from the little TBE problem that was effortlessly fixed (and by fixing it I learned a lot about how these tiny guys function) it is a cool little helicopter and amazingly small.
I bought the Heli for $18.45 and its a outstanding deal. It charges quite fast and flies pretty stable. It goes forward and back especially rapidly. The heli is quite compact but quite sturdy. Its also educational given that I learned how helicopters perform! The Wings are particularly robust and the lights it shoots out are cool. The Heli is metal with plastic on it but the plastic is fairly strong. The Remote has no spring so don't forget to pull down when your landing! It has Gyro which implies it auto - stablizes itself. My other heli, Syma s012 lasted for 4 days. I feel this heli will final with me forever!
